Our Store Manager is more than a retail supervisor. They are the custodian of the brand on the shop floor, bridging our artisanal milling and today’s health-conscious customer.
The mission
Our stores are not just points of sale. They are places to learn how food is made. You will run a seamless milled-to-order experience and lead a team of millers and sales associates, so every customer leaves with more than a bag of flour: a better understanding of what they eat.
What you’ll do
Orders and the milling queue
- Milled-to-order workflow: run the live queue, balancing walk-in customers with pre-orders so the milling station never becomes a bottleneck.
- Omnichannel fulfilment: manage orders arriving by WhatsApp, phone and the web, and coordinate local home delivery so freshly milled staples arrive fresh.
- Special orders: handle requests for custom blends and grinds, giving the miller clear, actionable instructions.
Billing and financial integrity
- Point of sale: own the POS system and make sure every sale, from a 1 kg bag to a bulk subscription, is recorded accurately.
- Reconciliation: reconcile cash and digital payments (UPI, cards, wallets) daily, and keep physical stock and sales records in step.
- GST and documentation: issue correct tax invoices and keep digital records ready for audit.
Operations and inventory
- Stock planning: use data to anticipate busy days, and keep grain stock sufficient without overstocking.
- Waste tracking: monitor milling loss and packaging waste, and find ways to keep margins healthy.
Customer experience
- Brand storytelling: lead the floor by explaining why slow stone-milling matters.
- Issue resolution: be the final point of contact for billing errors or order delays, resolving them in a way that builds loyalty.
Who you are
- Tech-savvy: comfortable with modern POS software, inventory apps and WhatsApp Business.
- Operationally sharp: you can manage a milling queue of five while checking in a 200 kg grain delivery.
- Detail-oriented: you notice a missing price tag or a wrong GST rate.
- Experienced: three to seven years in a high-footfall premium setting, such as specialty grocery, cafés or organic retail.
Why TrueSubstance
- Beyond retail: you are not just selling a commodity; you are running a live production facility.
- Career acceleration: as we grow from one store to many, this role can grow into cluster or operations leadership.
- Real impact: be the face of bringing real nutrition back to Indian kitchens.
