Miller at Store

Apply by email

This role is the heartbeat of our stores. We are moving away from industrial, high-heat processing towards nutritional integrity, so we need someone who sees milling as a craft, not just a machine to operate.

The mission

Be the custodian of our product’s integrity. You won’t just run machinery: you will make sure every batch we mill keeps its natural character, following our slow stone-milling process and our under-42 °C milling standard.

What you’ll do

  • Artisanal production: operate the stone chakki and related milling equipment to produce fresh, high-quality flour.
  • Quality control: run sensory and technical checks on incoming grain and finished flour, so both meet our standards.
  • Precision milling: adjust grind, texture and settings to produce each flour (suji, sharbati, multigrain and more) in line with daily demand.
  • Equipment care: maintain and deep-clean the milling unit regularly to prevent contamination and keep it performing at its best.
  • Inventory: track grain stock and coordinate with the sourcing team to keep a milled-to-order workflow running.
  • Safety and hygiene: keep the milling room spotless, following FSSAI requirements and our internal hygiene protocols.

Who you are

  • Experienced: one to five years of hands-on experience in a flour mill, ideally in fresh, stone-ground or organic milling.
  • Grain-savvy: you understand Indian wheats, millets and pulses, and how moisture and weather affect milling.
  • Detail-oriented: you can judge flour by touch and sight, and “close enough” is not good enough.
  • Growth-minded: you want to be part of a business that values slow, healthy, honest food.

Why TrueSubstance

  • Impact: your work directly improves the food your community eats.
  • Entrepreneurial culture: no rigid hierarchy. If you find a better way to mill or store grain, we listen.
  • A modern workplace: a clean, retail-forward, tech-enabled environment that respects the craft of milling.
